Assembly PreparationDr. John H. Calhoun, D.S.

I am asking you all to give dedicated prayer time for the upcoming Assembly and Conventions.  The District Church offers great resources to you at our Assembly and Conventions coming up.  For example, the guest speakers are inspirational.  Rev. Kim Singson, from India, Dr. J.K. Warrick, and Rev. Reggie Joiner are all greatly used of God to help equip us for ministry.

John Wilcox will give information on Rev Kim Singson and you already know Dr. Warrick.  But Rev. Reggie Joiner is new to you.  He is the founder of a family discipleship ministry called ReThink.  I will soon give you more details about his ministry but I know you will be challenged and inspired by his presentation.

Again, join the prayer force for this vital time in our district church.

Looking Forward!

In just two months Northern California Nazarenes will gather in Concord for our annual District Assembly and Missions Convention.   We are anticipating a great Thursday morning, May 6th, of inspiration and awe at what God has been doing in our world through missions.  Our theme will be “Make Christ the Center”.  Rev. Kim Singson, the NE India District Superintendent, will be our special speaker.  Her daughter Jenny will also be with us.

Do Not Forget the Tylenol

Once again we will be collecting Tylenol for our Nazarene Hospital in Kudjip, New Guinea.  It is crucial for our District to continue to send Tylenol to the people of New Guinea so they can continue to have a medication to assist with pain relief.  The medical professionals rely on us to help them share the love of Jesus by helping to alleviate pain.

Importance of World Evangelism Fund

Below are some of the statistics for your Global Church of the Nazarene.  This is just a glimpse of how important it is for us to continue to give to the World Evangelism Fund.  Your dollars do help spread the Word of God to those who need to know that Jesus Loves them!  Please do your part to help spread the Word.

The Global Church of the Nazarene in review:

·         Church of the Nazarene is in 155 World Areas.

·         Approximately 790 Missionaries from 40 World Areas

·         190 Missionary Kids

·         Pensions for more than 320 Retired Missionaries

·        64 medical clinics and hospitals plus a plethora of compassionate ministry centers around the world.

·          40 Bible and theological colleges and 11 universities in world mission areas for a total enrollment of more than 30,500 students

·        14,500 extension students received their education at 30 education extension centers in 2008

·        In a church like ours that spans the globe, we understand that Nazarenes speak many languages. In 2008, 231 literature projects were completed in 56 languages. More than 700 projects are currently underway, representing 62 languages. Some of these projects will take a minimum of 3 years to complete.

·         430 districts have been established around the world with more than 24,000 clergy

Easter Offering

The Easter Offering will be received on Easter Sunday, April 4th. Please be prayerful about your participation and give freely. “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously” (2 Corinthians 9:6).

The Church of the Nazarene needs your help to keep the wheels of God’s mission rolling by giving in the Easter Offering. We may count the results of the Easter Offering in monetary units, but how can we count the results in souls won to Christ? Those results will be seen when we all gather around God’s throne.

Allow the children to do chores around the house so they can give to the World Evangelism Fund. Make giving fun so your children will want to be a part of the Lord’s work around the world. We are never too young to help fund God’s mission!

Easter is a time of celebration—the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord. Make the Easter Offering a family event this year and get everyone in each household involved.  -Copied-

Hi Everyone,

We have 2010 Summer Camp dates!!!  Please do not hesitate to call with any questions that you might have concerning camp or any NYI matters.  As you will notice, college students are going to be part of this year's houseboat camp, this is a decision that our camp committee decided on in part because we didn't have houseboats last summer.  Again, if you have any concerns about this, please give us a call.

It is our desire to support you in the ministries that God has placed upon you, especially concerning our students.  We are a team at NorCal!  Thanks for all that you do in the life of our students.
